According to police, Redonggo-Beffert was driving her Chevrolet Camera at excessive speeds while she was intoxicated along New Falls Road in the early morning hours of July 31, 2011 when she struck a Harley-Davidson motorcycle from behind between the intersections of Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and Five Points. Motorcycle passenger Janel Cook of Elkins Park was thrown off and so was the male driver. Cook died of her injuries and the male passenger survived.

The trial was delayed several times before the plea was announced. Assistant District Attorney Matthew Hoover prosecuted the case.

Redonggo-Beffert will be sentenced in the coming weeks. She is currently free on 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
