The Bucks County Industrial Development Authority (BCIDA) has recently been nominated to receive a prestigious award for it’s improvement of the former Haddonfield Lumber Yard in Falls Township.
The former lumber yard located at 1 M-Y Lane is an abandoned rail-served industrial site which acted as a manufacturing distribution facility for residential building materials. Currently the BCIDA is seeking to produce fully pre-developed acre lots at the site by acquiring, improving and installing all necessary roads, infrastructure, utilities and landscaping.

The project has in turn been nominated to receive the Pennsylvania Brownfields Conference Extreme Makeover Award given out this year at the Radisson Valley Forge Hotel in King of Prussia from December 9 to 11. The presentations will be scored by a panel of judges in addition to attendees of the conference. To register for the conference, click here.
The other nominees for the award include the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Montgomery for the Crossings at Ambler Station and the Mt. Airy Transit Village for the Wissahickon Charter School.
Pennsylvania’s approach to Brownfields Redevelopment has proven to be a national model for transforming abandoned, idle properties into places of environmental protection and economic opportunity.
