Car That Hit Building Lost Control, State Police Say

The crash that caused a VW Jetta to hit a building on Bellevue Avenue in Hulmeville Borough Thursday afternoon happened when the driver lost control, state police said Friday morning.

The Jetta was making a left turn from Trenton Road onto Neshaminy Street when it hit a curb on the right side and the driver lost control. She drove across a lane of oncoming traffic before hitting a a PECO natural gas line and a empty building, according to an accident report.

The driver, a 22-year-old Bensalem woman, was not injured in the crash, police said.

PECO workers responded to the scene along with area fire crews and Pennsylvania State Police. Fire police closed the roads around the accident scene.

The woman arranged to have a tow remove her car from the scene.
