Bristol Lions Park buzzed with excitement Saturday as the Bristol Lions Club held its 30th annual Italian Festival as Frank Sinatra tunes provided the musical backdrop.
The crowds for the event where the aroma of sausage and peppers caressed the senses as you got closer to the waterfront, were huge and spilled out and over to many of the shops and businesses on Mill Street.

Bristol Lions President Donna Martino, who arrived at the waterfront park early this morning, looked around at the crowds saying its been a perfect day so far.
“No bad weather this year, thank God,” she said.

As thousands surveyed which of the delectable food offerings to choose from, Martino said the Italian culture day is an integral event for the organization because of the many initiatives they support in and for the community.

“I look forward to this one event here in Bristol every year,” Joe Nucci from Warminster said. “The food, the atmosphere and with some of the new shops, it doesn’t get old. It gets better”
A new event was added to the Bristol Lions roster for the late fall, early holiday season this year also.
