The old tennis courts at the Harry S. Truman High School in Bristol Township are becoming parking for some students who drive to school starting this school year.
Superintendent Dr. Samuel Lee said recently that the loss of about 80 parking spots at the Benjamin Franklin School on Mill Creek Road spurred the decision to use the old tennis courts located by the football stadium. Lee confirmed that the school does not currently use the courts for tennis.

The new parking area is set to be ready when school opens on August 28.
Some Truman students used to be able to park their cars at the Franklin school and walk to the high school. The roughly 80 spots at the Franklin school are being fenced off by the new district transportation contractor Student Transportation of America (STA) to safeguard new buses.
Lee said the school district has agreed to waived $24,000 in host fees for July, August and September in order for STA to build the security fence at the Franklin school. Under the terms of the contract, STA pays $96,000 in yearly host fees to the district.
