Charges are likely to be filed next week following the discovery of a dead newborn inside a Tullytown Borough home on Thursday.

The suspected mother of the baby boy told investigators she gave birth to the child early Monday morning and was unaware she was carrying until she went into labor, according to court papers. The mother – whose name is being withheld by LevittownNow.com until charges are filed – is a 38-year-old woman told authorities it was a stillbirth, which is where the baby dies in the womb before birth.

Once the woman delivered the baby inside 275 Lakeside Drive and determined on her own that he was dead, she placed him in a black plastic bag, documents state.  She tied the bag and left it in her bedroom, police said.

Bucks County Coroner Joseph Campbell was not available for comment on Friday to release information on the autopsy of the tiny body, which likely revealed whether the baby was dead at the time of birth.

Acting Police Chief Daniel Doyle said Friday that investigators have a “person of interest” in the case, but he declined further comment.

The woman said to be the mother of the baby boy let police into the home to search it and also allowed DNA samples to be taken from her, according to authorities.

Investigators spoke with family of the woman at the Tullytown Borough Municipal Complex on Main Street on Thursday.

Neighbors and court papers confirm that the residents of the home were part of a multi-generational family. “Three generations live there,” one neighbor told LevittownNow.com

Law enforcement were spotted taking several brown bags of presumed evidence out of the home Thursday even. A search warrant filed by investigators revealed that police were looking for “evidence of birth.”
