It took some hard work, but some Poquessing and Carl Sandburg Middle School eighth-grade students recently passed their Boating and Water Safety Awareness Course.
The students recently have the opportunity to take their skills to the water in Middletown.

The course culminated with a trip onto the waters of Lake Luxemburg at Core Creek Park before the recent end of the school year.
Students learned and fine-tuned their boating skills in the schools’ pools. Eighth-graders from both schools worked together during the classes, according to the Neshaminy School District.
This culminating activity is a great way for these students to see the opportunities for outdoor recreational boating experiences in our area. Hopefully, these Neshaminy students will participate in boating as a lifelong activity,” Sandburg physical education teacher Donna Ferro said.
