The future of the recently recently shuttered Village Park Elementary School in Falls Township’s Levittown section remains up in the air.
Mothballing the Unity Drive building or renting it to the Bucks County Schools Intermediate Unit have previously been talked about. District spokesperson Ann Langtry said Friday that no official decision has been made.

District employees are currently in the process of moving boxes from classrooms to the new schools where teachers and students have been reassigned.
The school’s closing is expected to save Pennsbury approximately $1.4 million per a year, district officials said in May. The savings are expected to mainly come from utilities, maintenance and technical upgrades that will no longer be needed.
One of the factors that came into play when discussions on closing the school began last year was the projected cost of up to $2 million in repairs that needed to be completed.

The 75,000-square-foot school, which is on the same grounds as both campuses of the district’s high school, features an open classroom environment, which meant the instructional rooms were separated by bookcases and shelving units instead of walls.
