A woman who said she was on her way to her boyfriend’s house in Morrisville plead guilty in court on Monday to charges stemming from a deadly Falls Township car crash, PhillyBurbs.com reports.

Ashley Sheridan, 28, of Perkiomenville, pleaded guilty to charges of vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A witness told police that she saw Sheridan, who was living in Middletown Township at the time, speeding before the October 2011 car accident that happened on the roadway that connects Route 1 to Route 32 (River Road/Bridge Street) in the Morrisville section of Falls.

According to court papers, officers found Sheridan’s purse and discovered a prescription medication bottle with two oval tablets that did not belong to her. An analysis by the county crime lab showed the tablets were buprenorphine, a drug often used to treat opioid addiction, police said.

Police said they searched Sheridan’s car found no mechanical malfunctions. They also said a warrant performed on her phone revealed no text messages or calls were received just before the crash.

Mary McGrath, 66, of Morrisville, died in June of 2012 due to injuries sustained from the crash, police said. The coroner said she died from “multiple injuries sustained in the motor vehicle accident.”

The 28-year-old turned herself into Falls police in October.
