Fire Company Awarded 10K Grant for New Radios; Fire Police Officer Appointed

At last Thursday’s Bristol Township Council meeting, a check was presented to the Edgely Fire Company for the purchase of new radios funded under the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority Municipal Grant Program.

“Its our honor and pleasure to acknowledge the work of the Edgely Fire Company. This is to thank you for the work you do in the township every day,” Council President Bob Lewis said.

On hand to accept the award was Edgely Fire Company President Dan Pasciullo.

“I just want to thank the council, the manager, and we also want to thank the redevelopment authority and Parx Casino. They’ve been a very big help to the fire company in the township,” he said.

The Municipal Grant Program (MGP) provides grants for capital projects and public  improvements. MGP funds may be used for projects consistent with Act 71 2004, of the state gaming fund.

In a related manner, the council voted in unanimous support for the appointment of a Special Fire Police Officer.

Nominated by the Croydon Fire Company No 1 was Ron Sterling of Croydon. Sterling was unable to attend the meeting due to a downed poll on Bath Road, however the vote was 6-0 in support for his appointment to the position.
