Pennsbury High School students gathered outside the East Campus in Falls Township last Friday morning for a remembrance ceremony to honor the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The event was led by the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC).
Student cadets presented the colors and raised the American flag.
The ceremony included readings, remarks, and a timeline recalling the events of that day a quarter-century ago.

Cadets laid flowers at a remembrance wreath positioned at the base of the flagpole.
The ceremony paid tribute to the lives lost in the attacks, including several Pennsbury High School graduates.

Students also performed “Taps” during the morning remembrance.
Today’s high schoolers were not yet born when the attacks happened 25 years ago.
According to the school district, the ceremony served an educational purpose, helping teach current students about the historical events and the lives lost.
