NEW INFORMATION: Man Held Without Bail After Death Of Wife

Bristol Borough police and the Bucks County Detectives filed charges against Michael P. Myers, 59, in the death of the a woman inside his home in the 1300 block of Wood Street.

The charges came around 1:30 a.m. and include criminal homicide, strangulation, aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime with intent, false imprisonment, and intimidation of a witness or victim. He was preliminarily arraigned before on-call District Judge Brian Marriott and held without bail.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that a “death investigation” was underway at a home in the 1300 block of Wood Street in Bristol Borough.

Earlier, Bristol Borough Chief of Police Joe Moors described the scene as a “serious domestic incident.”
The situation is contained and there is no threat to the surrounding public, Moors said.

County detectives are working with Bristol Borough police to investigate the death, said Manuel Gamiz, communications director for the district attorney’s office.
Gamiz was unable to release further details, but law enforcement sources said a woman was found deceased by officers in the home this morning shortly after 6 a.m.

An ambulance from the Bucks County Rescue Squad was dispatched and then sent away a few minutes later, according to dispatch records.
Moors and Gamiz declined to state if anyone was in custody by officers at the home. However, a bystander and law enforcement source both said a man was detained and taken from the scene around 7:15 a.m.

No charges have been filed as of noon, according to court records.

Neighbors were shocked as they went outside to see the heavy police presence.

Several people identified as knowing the woman were seen weeping and later speaking with a detective.

Police stopped at surrounding homes to talk with neighbors.

A woman who lives nearby knows the residents of the home and recalled the man there often waves at her when she sees him. She did not want to be named.
“Oh my,” she said when she learned there was a death. “I can’t believe it happened there.”
