PennDOT has awarded funding for a traffic signal modernization project in Middletown Township through Pennsylvania’s Green Light-Go program.

Middletown Township has been awarded $562,564 to modernize traffic signals where Lincoln Highway meets both the southbound and northbound I-95 ramps.
State Sen. Frank Farry and State Rep. Joe Hogan, both Republicans representing the area, jointly announced the grant award.
“Modernizing this traffic signal will reduce congestion and improve the flow of traffic at this busy intersection,” Farry said.

Hogan said the project will enhance safety along the heavily traveled corridor.
Also in Lower Bucks County, Morrisville Borough was granted $896,880 to update existing traffic signals at Bridge Street and Delmorr Avenue and Bridge Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

The Lower Bucks County projects are part of $38 million distributed across 86 projects statewide, according to the office of Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro.
“The safety improvements supported by the Green Light-Go program will help municipalities keep Pennsylvanians moving safely and efficiently,” PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll said. “I’m proud that PennDOT continues to partner with communities to deliver real results.”
Funded through the current state budget, the Green Light-Go Program provides reimbursement grants to local municipalities for projects designed to improve traffic signal operation and efficiency.

PennDOT said eligible upgrades include LED technology installations, signal retiming, special-event traffic management, system monitoring, and transition to modern signal technologies.
