A newly-acquired utility terrain vehicle (UTV) is already proving its worth for Bristol Borough’s emergency management agency.

The compact Polaris vehicle was purchased using money from a Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County impact fee grant, which uses funds from Parx Casino.
The UTV carries emergency medical equiptment, a small fire suppression system, and an enclosed cabin.
The UTV can navigate tight spaces and off-road areas where standard emergency vehicles struggle to operate.

The 2026-model vehicle is tailored to move quickly throughout the borough.
“It’s a terrific asset to have in Bristol Borough,” said Bristol Borough Emergency Management Coordinator A.J. DeAngelis. “It’s already been out on event standbys. We’ve put one fire out with it, and we’ve responded to a medical emergency.”

The UTV is stationed at the Goodwill Hose Fire Company, and the vehicle is ready for quick deployment.
DeAngelis said he has trained all borough emergency management personnel on the UTV operations.
The goal of training multiple officials is to get the unit to scenes quickly when calls are dispatched.
