Mobile Home Destroyed, Two Pets Killed In Fire

A mobile home was destroyed by heavy fire and two pets died Thursday afternoon in Falls Township.

Fire crews were dispatched at 12:56 p.m. to the 100 block of Truman Drive in the Breezy Acres Trailer Park for reports of a house fire with possible entrapment, according to Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito.

At the scene, firefighters encountered a heavily involved structure, with flames and smoke visible, officials said.

The occupants made it out safely prior to the arrival of firefighters. One of the occupants escaped through a window, the fire marshal said.

A dog and a cat died in the fire, Dippolito said.

No firefighter injuries were reported.

The fire was brought under control and extinguished, with units clearing the scene by 3 p.m.

Lincoln Highway was closed in the area of the mobile home park as firefighters laid hose across the four-lane roadway to provide extra water to crews battling the flames.

The American Red Cross was requested to provide assistance to the displaced residents.

Dippolito said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it does not appear suspicious.

The Fairless Hills Fire Company was assisted on the scene by the Falls Township Fire Company, Levittown Fire Company No. 1, Levittown Fire Company No. 2, William Penn Fire Company, and the Morrisville Fire Company. The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad also responded.
