Officials in the Pennsbury School District alerted parents Wednesday evening that police are investigating a reported threat directed at Charles Boehm Middle School.

District administrators sent a notification to families after receiving a report that a student planned to bring a firearm to the school in Lower Makefield Township on Thursday.

Police were immediately contacted and launched an investigation into the matter, officials said.

School officials stated that the student in question does not have access to weapons, and authorities have deemed the reported threat not credible.

“We take every threat seriously and investigate each situation thoroughly in partnership with law enforcement,” Charles Boehm Principal Stephanie Hultquist and Superintendent Dr. Thomas Smith said in an email.

The scare at the middle school follows a bomb threat at Pennsbury High School earlier this week and an early dismissal at the high school caused by a threat of violence.
