The owner of local eateries has been charged after an investigation into allegations of workplace harassment and inappropriate contact with employees, according to Bensalem Township police.

Larry Ferreira, 59, the owner of Bagelocity and The Soup King Cafe on Bensalem Boulevard, has been charged with several counts of indecent assault and harassment.
The investigation by Bensalem Township authorities began after a former employee contacted police to report a pattern of misconduct at the businesses.
Detectives interviewed several current and former staff members, who described a history of behavior spanning several years, police said.

“They reported similar behavior by Ferreira, which included inappropriate physical contact with female employees, sexual harassment both in person and via cellphone communication, and ongoing verbal abuse spanning several years,” police said.
Ferreira was charged via summons, according to court records.
