Held in the high schoolโs Lou Volpe Auditorium, inductees participated in a candle-lighting ceremony and recited the NHS pledge to be sworn in. Principal Craig and Elizabeth Gregory, teacher and faculty advisor, spoke to students and parents, and several new members shared about the four pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Founded in 1921, NHS recognizes student achievement and excellence and serves more than one million students across all 50 states.

NHS officers for 2026-27 also helped to plan and execute the ceremony. They include President Cory Pressley, Vice President Matthew Emrich, Treasurer Joseph OโNeill, and Secretary Nicolina Harkins.
For the first time, Trumanโs NHS chapter has plans to work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Ronald McDonald House this school year. Students will continue their cultural pen pal exchange with their partner high school in Chiayi City, Taiwan, as well as create holiday ornaments for troops.ย
