A pre-dawn fire destroyed a home in Tullytown Borough early Thursday morning.
Neighbors reported the blaze shortly before 4 a.m. in the 600 block of Pond Street.

When crews arrived at the scene, they were met with heavy flames venting through the front of the residence and the roof, according to Tullytown Fire Company Chief Aaron Cohen.

The resident was at work at the time of the fire, and officials confirmed no one was inside, the chief said.
Firefighters battled the flames for an hour before bringing the blaze under control, Cohen said.

No injuries were reported among the responding crews.
The home is considered a total loss, the chief said.
Tullytown Borough Fire Marshal David Pearl said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The response to the fire closed a portion of Main Street. The roadway was reopened to traffic by daybreak.
In addition to the Tullytown Fire Company, the America, Hose, Hook, and Ladder; Bristol Consolidated; Edgely; Fairless Hills; Levittown No. 1; and Levittown No. 2 fire companies responded. The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad was also on the scene.
