Crews found a Lexus RX350 SUV flipped onto its side with the driver still trapped inside.

Rescue operations began with stabilizing the SUV using cribbing and struts to prevent the vehicle from shifting, Slack said.

As Engine 52 and Rescue 25 provided fire protection for the scene, crews from Rescue 25 and Rescue 51 worked to reach the trapped driver, the chief said.

In an effort to get access to the driver, firefighters removed the windshield and used hydraulic cutters to peel back the section of the roof forward of the moon roof, Slack said.

The extrication was completed in 20 minutes.
