

UPDATE: FBI Detonates Explosives At Storage Facility Linked To Terror Plot
FBI special agents executed a search warrant at a self-storage facility Monday afternoon as the investigation continues into two local men accused of plotting a failed weekend terrorist attack in New York City.
Middletown Township police joined federal personnel in blocking off the Public Storage on South Flowers Mill Road.

During the mid-afternoon operation, an FBI special agent turned away motorists, stating the facility was closed due to a dangerous situation.
A law enforcement source said the activity was connected to the ongoing terrorism probe.

The search warrant execution takes place a day after the FBI hit homes in Middletown and Newtown townships.

The activity at the storage facility come hours after a criminal complaint was filed Monday by federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York.
Emir Balat, 18, a Neshaminy High School student from the Langhorne section of Middletown, and Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, of Newtown Township, face multiple federal offenses. According to court documents, the charges that included use of a weapon of mass destruction and providing material support to ISIS.

Authorities allege the duo traveled from Pennsylvania to New York City on Saturday morning. Their intended target was an anti-Muslim protest taking place near Gracie Mansion, the official residence of Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to federal authorities and the NYPD.
