A New Jersey man was sentenced last week for the rape of an unconscious woman at his Falls Township apartment.

Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Wallace Bateman handed down the sentence of Monday to serve six to 12 years in state prison to Bryan M. Stackhouse, 29, of Manahawkin, New Jersey, last Monday. The judge ordered Stackhouse to have no contact with the victim.
A jury convicted Stackhouse in July of rape of an unconscious person, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and indecent assault after a three-day trial, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation began Feb. 11, 2024, after officers were notified by Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia that a rape victim was being treated at their facility.

According to police, the victim and a friend met Stackhouse and another man at a bar before returning to Stackhouse’s residence in Falls Township.
The victim told investigators she woke up to find Stackhouse sexually assaulting her.

During the trial, prosecutors presented DNA evidence that confirmed Stackhouse’s involvement in the assault.

In the statement, the woman detailed the lasting trauma caused by the attack.

“I’m here today to tell you about how this event has affected my life,” the statement read. “Talking about this is really hard for me, but I kept telling myself this is my chance for my voice to finally be heard.”
The victim concluded her statement by asking the judge to consider the lifelong burden of the pain she now carries.
