With Oxford Valley Pool Closure, Pinewood Pool Saw Increased Use

The Falls Township-owned Pinewood Pool saw an increase in use and revenue during the 2025 season, a rise attributed partly to the closure of the Bucks County-owned Oxford Valley Pool.

“Our numbers did go up this year,” Falls Township Parks and Recreation Director Brian Andrews said, noting that more residents joined the pool. “Our revenues were up in almost every category.”

Andrews said that the warm weather and increased use did lead the township to spend slightly more on chemicals than is typical.

The Pinewood Pool fund was projected to be revenue neutral in the 2025 budget.

The Pinewood and Oxford Valley pools are among the few government-owned public pools remaining in the area, as a number of public pools in Levittown have closed over the years.

Last month, the Falls Township Board of Supervisors approved the replacement of five starter motors in the pump room at Pinewood Pool.

The supervisors awarded the bid to Armour and Sons Electric, Inc., the lowest of three bidders, for $30,400.

The project was budgeted for $25,000, but, officials stated, that a new pool slide added in 2025 came in $18,417 under budget, which more than offset the overage on the motor replacement.
