Dog Rescued By Firefighters In Afternoon Blaze

A house on Goldenridge Drive in Bristol Township’s Levittown section was heavily damaged after a fire broke out and quickly engulfed the property.

The blaze spread rapidly, and fire crews from Levittown Fire Company No. 2 and several other volunteer fire stations responded quickly to the scene around 1:35 p.m.

Crews arrived to find heavy fire on the front of the house and it was extending to the second floor, Levittown Fire Company No. 2 Chief Chris Shortt said.

Despite firefighters’ efforts, the flames moved through across structure before it was brought under control, which took about 10 minutes.

Firefighters rescued a dog from the home, Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said.

No residents were home at the time, Shortt.

One firefighter suffered a shoulder injury and was transported to Lower Bucks Hospital, Dippolito said.

The investigation found the fire started in a mulch bed outside of the home.

In addition to Levittown Fire Company No. 2, the Fairless Hills, Newport, and Newportville fire companies responded.
