Sammar Khan, 42, of Levittown, came before Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Finley and entered an open guilty plea in the killing of her husband, Faisal Iqbal, 39. Khan’s plea was to charges of third-degree murder, possession of an instrument of crime, and reckless endangerment.

The shooting occurred on the morning of Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Bristol Borough Waterfront Park.

The couple’s pre-K-aged son was nearby when she gunned down Iqbal.

Witnesses told police Khan and Iqbal were seen talking along the beach when Khan began speaking loudly in another language.

A “pop” sound was then heard by witnesses, and Iqbal reportedly brushed his hand on his body before wrestling with Khan. Additional shots were heard during the struggle, authorities said.

Iqbal walked toward the Mill Street Parking Lot and told a bystander to call 9-1-1.

Police said Khan then fired two more shots at Iqbal, causing him to collapse.

As he lay on the ground, Khan allegedly raised a 9mm handgun and fired twice at his stomach before firing once into his head.

The couple’s young son at the park was unharmed, and all four children were later placed in the custody of Bucks County Children and Youth.

Iqbal had filed for divorce from Khan in April 2023, with the case in its early stages.

Court records also show Iqbal was arrested in April 2022 for violating a court order and served 60 days in county jail.
