Metals USA has received approval to expand its operations in Falls Township, a move expected to create eight to 10 new jobs. The Falls Township Board of Supervisors granted approval for the project at its meeting last month.

The expansion at the company’s 58 Cabot Boulevard East site will include a new 70,000-square-foot building for steel storage and a covered storage area of approximately 31,500 square feet.

Michael Meginniss, attorney for Metals USA, stated the company has “outgrown its existing structure over the last five to seven years.”

“Metals USA has been fortunate enough to be a very successful business located here in Falls Township,” Meginniss said.

Supervisor Chairperson Jeff Dence welcomed the news of the expansion.

“We’re very happy that you’re expanding in Falls Township. That makes us happy,” Dence said.

The 18.7-acre property, which located in the PIP zoning district, backs onto a rail line and fronts Route 1.

Metals USA currently uses the site for inventorying and processing stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum materials.

Metals USA had previously obtained zoning relief for the development but “pared the plan down a bit” after its appearance before the Zoning Hearing Board, according to Meginniss.
