Crews were dispatched to the Bucks County Office Center in the 1200 block of Veterans Highway around 2:22 p.m. for a fire alarm activation, Third District Fire Company Chief Howard McGoldrick said.

The Third District Fire Company arrived to find a fire on the roof, with much of the flames already knocked down, McGoldrick said.

The blaze appeared to have been started by roofers working on the building, McGoldrick said.

The chief said roofers using a torch accidentally ignited a small fire and attempted to put it out with a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived.

Smoke detectors in the building activated due to the blaze
