

A Monday morning fire damaged a home in the Levittown section of Middletown Township.

The blaze in the 70 block of Fruitree Road was reported just past 11:05 a.m.
Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control, according to William Penn Fire Company Deputy Chief Bill Smith.
The appeared to have started outside the garage before spreading inside and reaching the attic of the residence, Smith stated.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke emanating from a gable vent and flames visible on the side of the house. Crews deployed a hose line and began extinguishing the fire, which was brought under control swiftly.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Middletown Township Fire Marshal’s Office.
In addition to the William Penn Fire Company, the Fairless Hills, Levittown No. 2, Penndel, and Third District fire companies, along with the Middletown Township Department of Fire and Emergency Services and Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad responded.
