Officers Brooklyn Clausen, Dylan Fedena, and Christopher Adams were administered their oaths of office by District Judge Terry Hughes and were welcomed by Bristol Township Council.

Clausen brings a background in criminal justice to her new role. A graduate of St. John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Clausen previously served as a correctional officer and case management manager at the Bucks County Correctional Facility, according to Chief of Police Robert Coulton.

“This is a good night for the police department,” the chief said. “Tonight we have an opportunity to recognize two of our officers for performance in their official duties, and we’re also welcoming three new officers to our ranks.”

Lt. Sean Cosgrove presented commendations to officers, John Nowicki and Benjamin  Silverman for their handling of a dangerous situation during a traffic stop in August.

The officers were part of a traffic stop in the 3000 block of State Road in the Croydon section of the township.

An officer spotted drugs, the driver fled, and fought officers when they caught up with him. The driver attempted to take one of the officer’s Tasers, Cosgrove said.

During the stop, the officers recovered a so-called “ghost gun” and took the weapon off the street.
