

A rescue unfolded early Sunday as firefighters rescued a person trapped in a vehicle that had careened off I-95 and down an embankment along the Neshaminy Creek.

Officials said that the incident occurred at 3:31 a.m. on the northbound lanes of I-95 at the Neshaminy Creek Bridge on the border between Bensalem and Bristol townships.
The one-vehicle crash involved five occupants, with one person becoming entrapped after the vehicle plunged approximately 30 feet off the roadway, officials said.
Firefighters worked to free the trapped individual and hoisted them back to the highway, officials said.

The rescued person was then attended to by ambulance crews and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Details about the conditions of the other four people in the vehicle have not yet been released.
The Bensalem Township Volunteer Fire Department, Newportville Fire Company, and Third District Fire Company responded to the scene.
