
Democrat State Rep. Jim Prokopiak won the general election for the 140th Legislative District.

According to unofficial results, Prokopiak earned 54 percent of the vote and Cabanas gained 45.6 percent.
Prokopiak, an attorney, overcame Republican challenger Candace Cabanas, also a resident of Falls Township.
Prokopiak served on the Pennsbury School Board and the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority. Prokopiak was a Falls Township supervisor from 2002 to 2009.

Cabanas moved to Lower Bucks County five years ago. Despite her efforts to secure the seat, she fell short in her second attempt against Prokopiak.
Prokopiak’s campaign won not only a special election earlier this year but also an unchallenged primary before the general election.ย
