

A 21-year-old Levittown man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in disruptive car meetups in Philadelphia last month, law enforcement confirmed.

Joseph Cavanaugh was taken into custody Friday morning at his Crabtree residence in the Levittown section of Bristol Township, according to NBC 10.
Footage from 6abc showed a Bristol Township police officer escorting Cavanaugh from his home while Philadelphia police stood nearby.
According to law enforcement, car rallies on the nights of Sept. 21 and Sept. 22 attracted hundreds and led to a number of reckless and dangerous activities, including reckless driving.

One meetup outside Philadelphia City Hall caused thousands of dollars in damages and also led to national attention that was shared in widely circulated video.

Cavanaugh faces a litany of charges including aggravated assault, risking catastrophe, criminal mischief, riot, criminal conspiracy, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, fleeing a police officer, disorderly conduct with a hazard, and reckless driving, according to NBC 10.
The chaotic gatherings led to multiple arrests across the region, including one individual who was wearing a banana costume.
