The Bristol Township School District is mourning the death of a Harry S. Truman High staff member, according to a note to students and parents.

School Secretary Melissa Carroll passed away unexpectedly Wednesday night after a brief hospitalization earlier this week, the district announced.
Carroll, 34, was a member of the school’s administrative team and the mother of children who attend Bristol Township schools.
Melissa Carroll had joined the Truman Team at the beginning of this school year.

“We are grieving theย loss of Melissa,” Truman Principal Jon Craig said.ย “Melissa was a great addition to our team and a vibrant and enthusiastic member of our Tiger School Community.ย Our sincere condolences go out to her family and friends as we all join together to support each other during this difficult time.”
In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe page has been established to assist Carroll’s family. The school district has circulated a link encouraging those who wish to offer financial support to contribute.

As the school community deals with the loss, the districtโs crisis team, counselors, and emotional support staff will be available to assist families, students, and staff. These resources will be accessible when school resumes on Monday, the district said.
