Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn released the below statement:
“The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office has completed its review of a non-fatal shooting that occurred outside of a residence in Middletown Township on Sunday, March 3, 2024. After reviewing the evidence, as well as the circumstances surrounding the incident, we have determined that the shooting was a justifiable act of self-defense and defense of others under Pennsylvania law. We are grateful for the prompt response and the thorough investigation conducted by the Middletown Township Police Department.”
The shooter, who claimed to be acting in self-defense, fired at the man, striking him in the face around 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, police said at the time.

A separate shooting happened days later a short distance away at a home on Brownsville Road. That incident, which led to the death of a dog and left a man with a leg wound, remained under investigation. Officials were reviewing the possibility that the shooter in that case also acted in self-defense.
