

Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Friday, and they are reminding the public of safety measures for online marketplace transactions.

The robbery took place in the afternoon hours outside the Isabet Academy, the site of the former Immaculate Conception Catholic School on Bristol-Oxford Valley Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section.
A person arranged an online sale and met with the purported buyer outside the school building, police said.
When the sale was set to take place, the suspect brandished a firearm and stole the item from the seller before fleeing the area, police said.

Investigators did released details of the specific item targeted in the theft.
No injuries were reported, and officials stated there is no ongoing threat to area residents, said Sgt. Jason Mancuso.

Responding officers searched the vicinity but were unable to locate the suspect.
The Bristol Township Police Department said the investigation remains ongoing.

In light of the robbery, Mancuso pointed to the risks of meeting strangers for online marketplace transactions and noted the department offers a secure alternative for residents.
The department has designated the parking lot near the police station and its main lobby area as a transaction safe place for buyers and sellers.
