A plastics company plans to close its Middletown Township plant this spring, according to a filing it made with the state.

Silgan Plastics on Wheeler Court in Middletown Township will be laying off an unspecified number of employees, according to Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice filed recently with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
The job cuts will be effective April 26 and are due to the facility’s closure, the notice stated.
In 2022, the company laid off 42 employees at the plant.

Silgan Plastics, a company operating in the U.S. and Canada, sells packaging for food service, health care, personal care, and household and industrial uses.
The company did not respond to a request for comment this week.
