The school board voted at a special meeting on Tuesday evening to appoint Erin Brosious to fill the open Region 1 seat.

Brosious, a Langhorne native, joins the board after a career working in education administration in Philadelphia and at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit. She presently works for the CLA, a large accounting and professional services firm, and is the national director of high school internships.

The new school board member was sworn in by District Judge Chuck Jonas.

Brosious is married and has two children going to school in the district. Her mother and siblings also previously attended Neshaminy.

During her public comments, Brosious said she was honored to return to the Neshaminy School District and she looks forward to serving.

Steve Somogyi, a Lower Southampton Township resident, also applied for the position, but he was not selected. He recently retired from a career as a top administrator for New Jersey’s municipal court system.

Board Vice President Tina Hollenbach said she was happy that two people were interested in the vacant seat for Region 1. She said both candidates were qualified.

Last month, the school board voted to accept the immediate resignation of Board Member Cyndie Bowman, of Lower Southampton Township.
