A domestic dispute in Bristol Borough escalated into a violent stabbing that left a 51-year-old man hospitalized with serious injuries, according to charges filed this week.

Bristol Borough reported that they received a call at 10:09 p.m. on January 5 regarding a man who had been stabbed and been brought to Jefferson Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia by private vehicle.
The wounded man suffered a stab wound at the base of his neck, just above his left clavicle, which led to a collapsed lung, according to Bristol Borough police and the Bucks County Detectives.
According to authorities, between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on January 5, the man was involved in a verbal altercation with his wife, 42-year-old Raylene Verrecchia-Camp, at their Bristol Borough residence.

The argument reportedly escalated when Verrecchia-Camp began striking her husband around his head, neck, and upper torso with her fists, police said.
She then stabbed him with a large kitchen knife, police said.

After the stabbing, Verrecchia-Camp allegedly smeared her husband’s blood on her face and violently scratched her own face and neck. She then reportedly flailed and threw herself down a large staircase in their home. She then sat up and slid down the rest of the steps.
The injured man managed to escape the home with the couple’s two minor sons, who were present during the attack, police said.
The man began to lose consciousness while driving to Philadelphia and his minor sons contacted his adult sons, who located him and transported him to the hospital.

Due to the severity of his injuries, the man was later transferred to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for further treatment.
Verrecchia-Camp came before District Judge Frank Peranteau this week to be preliminarily arraigned on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime with intent, simple assault, and reckless endangerment. As of Friday, she was lodged at the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
