Chris Greiner, an 18-year-old Harry S. Truman High School student from Bristol Township, has transformed his childhood love for music into a burgeoning career as he captivates local audiences with his instrumental and vocal skills.

Greiner’s journey into the world of music began in preschool and has been fueled by his lifelong aspiration to follow in the footsteps of the musical artists he has admired from afar.

Learning the drums from his stepdad at a young age was just the start of his musical exploration, he said.

During the COVID-19 pandemic with free time at hand, Greiner delved into piano lessons and discovered his interest in music production, which he recently said has been pivotal in shaping his current path.

Though initially drawn to genres like rap and Christian rap, Greiner found his true calling elsewhere.

“I gave rap a try, but it wasn’t my style,” he said.

However, his natural vocal talent did not go unnoticed, garnering compliments that encouraged him to further hone his skills.

A turning point came when Greiner watched a performance at a campground and that inspired him to learn guitar.

“It wasn’t easy and it was frustrating at first, but I just stuck with it,” Greiner said.

With growing confidence in his guitar and vocal skills, Greiner started performing with his first show in 2021.

Despite initial nerves, the enjoyment of audience engagement and the positive reception fueled his passion.

“I was happy no one threw tomatoes, and it really developed and fell into place from there,” he said about his early performances.

Today, Greiner is not only a solo act, but he plays with the Rainy Daze Band, a six-member ensemble of Bucks Countians that covers classic rock, modern hits, and originals.

His experiences playing with other musicians rank among his favorite, he said, adding he has really enjoyed playing a monthly cabaret show.

Greiner’s musical abilities cover various instruments, including guitar, drums, piano, and ukulele.

While many of his peers are working in retail or fast food, he has been earning a paycheck by performing.

In addition to his live performances, Greiner also works as a DJ and is involved in his church’s worship band.

“Obviously, every musician’s dream is to be on a big stage, but I really enjoy it no matter the stage,” he said. “All of this has happened pretty quickly.”

As his high school career draws closer to an end, Greiner looks toward the future with optimism.
