A 36-year-old man is headed to state prison for providing the drugs that led to a 2019 overdose death in Middletown Township.

Theodore Jackson, of Delaware County, pleaded no contest earlier this month to drug delivery resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communications facility, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Judge Gary Gilman sentenced Jackson after the plea to seven to 20 years in state prison.
Jackson was linked to the July 18, 2018 death of Christopher Felten, 32, who was found unresponsive after overdosing on heroin at the Country Manor Apartments on East Lincoln Highway in Middletown Township, according to court papers.

Investigations by Middletown Township Police and Bucks County Detectives revealed evidence from Felten’s phone, authorities said.
A drug-related conversation on one of his social media accounts connected him to Jackson. The exchange, which occurred the day before Felten’s death, involved Jackson directing Felten to a Delaware County home to purchase drugs, authorities said.

Records indicated ongoing drug-related interactions between the two dating back to June 2017.
Evidence further suggested that Jackson had purchased five bags of heroin from West Philadelphia and then sold them to Felten for $20.
The heroin purchased in the city was blamed for Felten’s death.

An autopsy confirmed that Felten died from methylfentanyl and methamphetamine toxicity.
In addition to Bucks County authorities, the Maple Township Police Department in Delaware County assisted.
