The nonprofit TMA Bucks Foundation announced it will install the bicycle repair stations at Core Creek Park and Peace Valley Park in Central Bucks County.
The stations will be installed at the two county-owned parks and are being funded by the Bucks County Tourism Grant Program.
โBy improving the bicycling infrastructure with this grant funding, Bucks County can aim to attract a wider range of visitors who are actively seeking outdoor recreational activities,โ said TMA Bucks Executive Director Stephen Noll. โCycling tourists often stay longer, explore local businesses, and contribute to the economic growth of the area by staying overnight, shopping and dining.โ

The goal is to have the stations installed in spring or summer.

Angie Nagle, the director of Bucks County Parks and Recreation, praised the project and noted the impact for tourist and local park visitors.

โBicycle repair stations demonstrate a commitment to the safety and reliability of the cycling infrastructure here in Bucks County, which can attract more tourists and encourage repeat visits to our beautiful parks,โ she said. โWe are thankful for TMA Bucks identifying this funding source and partnering with us to improve our parks to make them premier destinations that are bicycle friendly.โ
Core Creek Park is 1,200 acres and features Lake Luxembourg, sports fields, boating, fishing, hiking and biking trails, wooded areas, picnic spots, playgrounds, and more recreational spots.
The stations are part of a broader effort by TMA Bucks, a transportation management services and solutions advocacy organization, to prioritize bicycle initiatives in the county. The efforts include various safety assemblies, awareness events like โBike Nice/Drive Nice,โ the Bucks County Pop-Up Bike/Pedestrian Lane Project, and a partnership with the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.
