LevittownNow.com readers reported observing police activity in the neighborhoods along Trenton Road and outside of Herbert Hoover Elementary School on Wednesday.

The school increased security measures due to the incident, according to a Neshaminy School District letter sent to parents.

Detective Lt. Steve Forman said the activity was related to a “domestic situation” at the nearby Middletown Trace apartments.

A man allegedly left a residence in a woman’s rental truck with her belongings in it. The man was known to carry a firearm, Forman said.

The woman reportedly did not provide responding officers with all the correct information at the time of the call, Forman said.

“There was never any risk to the school or really anything at the apartment complex,” Forman said.

Captain Pete Feeney said a school resource officer was outside of the school as a precautionary measure.

The investigation into the incident has been closed and no charges have been filed, police said.
