Levittown Area Will Have Several Sites For National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Saturday marks National Prescription Drug Take Back Day in Bucks County.

The Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission, in collaboration with law enforcement and community coalitions, will host medication collection events Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be 48 collection sites in the county for this Saturday.

Residents can drive or walk up to deposit any unused or expired medications for safe disposal.

Officers will also accept over-the-counter drugs, pet medications, vitamins, vaping items, and more. Additionally, 30 county sites will take both medications and sharps. Some locations will offer Narcan, while supplies last.

• Lower Bucks Hospital, 501 Bath Road, Bristol (Sharps collection included)
• Penndel Police Department, 300 South Bellevue Avenue, Penndel (Sharps collection included)
• Pennsbury High School, 705 Hood Boulevard, Fairless Hills (Sharps collection included)
• Tullytown Police Department, 500 Main Street, Tullytown (Sharps collection included)
• Walmart, 180 Levittown Parkway, Tullytown

The commission emphasized the importance of safely handling medications—storing them correctly, using only as directed, and ensuring they are securely kept.

“We’ve been doing this take back since 2010, and we have now eclipsed 201,000 pounds of unused, unwanted, and expired medications,” Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission Executive Director Diane Rosati said.

Bucks County’s 2021 Pennsylvania Youth Survey data revealed that half of the county’s students who misused prescription drugs obtained them from a family member in their household.
