Levittown-area fire crews responded to a fierce fire at a home in Bensalem Township on Wednesday.

The Newport Fire Company in Bensalem Township reported that they were alerted to the blaze around 5:15 p.m.. The crews showed up to find the home in the 5100 block of Lighthouse Lane engulfed in fire and smoke.
The fire and smoke extended from the first and second floors to the attic and rear of the property, the fire company said.
Fire crews from Bensalem Township and nearby areas, including Croydon, Penndel, and other Levittown-area departments, battled the flames.

The home’s occupants managed to evacuate safely. Officials confirmed there were no reported injuries among the residents.
A firefighter from the Nottingham Fire Company required transportation to a local hospital but was subsequently released, officials said.

The fire was placed under investigation by the Bensalem Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Newport Fire Company said firefighters remained on the scene for approximately four hours.
