

A woman is alleged to have punched a Pennsylvania State Police trooper in the jaw on a Bristol Township roadside.

At approximately 9:20 p.m. last Friday, two troopers were along Ford Road near Veterans Highway (Route 413) with a person in custody on an outstanding warrant.
As the troopers were waiting for the warrant to be confirmed, an unidentified woman walked into the area of the traffic stop while smoking a cigarette, state police said.
The woman walked past one trooper before making an “abrupt move” toward the other trooper and punching the trooper on the left side of the jaw, according to state police.

The troopers then took the woman – identified as Shawna Wiggins, 36, of Bristol Township, into custody, state police said.
The 36-year-old woman was transported to the Pennsylvania State Police Trevose barracks and she was processed, troopers said.

The incident was captured on in-vehicle and body cameras, state police said.
Wiggins was charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and obstruction of the administration of law enforcement. She was preliminarily arraigned early Saturday morning before on-call District Judge Lisa Gaier and held at the county lockup on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.
According to court records, Wiggins was released Sunday after posting a $50,000 surety bond.
