PennDOT said “high-priority repairs” on the span that crosses the highway are getting underway.
According to PennDOT, the Trenton Road bridge work is part of a $44.6 million bridge improvement project taking place in Bucks, Delaware, and Philadelphia counties. Federal funds are covering the cost of the work.

“Repairs to the structures under this project include replacing rocker bearings, frozen sliding plate bearings and deck expansion joints; cleaning and painting steel beams; repairing substructure concrete; and reconstructing bearing pedestals,” according to a statement.
