The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and Bucks County Detectives were continuing as of Tuesday afternoon to investigate an incident where two officers shot a man in Falls Township.
According to a statement from the district attorney’s office, the incident started early Tuesday morning with a “routine traffic stop.” The man displayed a handgun twice and fled from Falls Township police.

Law enforcement sources told LevittownNow.com police made the traffic stop along Lincoln Highway and a pursuit led to the area of New Ford Mill and Steel roads, where the shooting occurred shortly after midnight.

The district attorney’s office said officers secured the man’s gun and rendered aid until medics arrived.
The wounded man was rushed by ambulance from the scene to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where he underwent surgery, sources said.

No officers were reported to be hurt.
The district attorney’s office didn’t released information on whether the man fired on police, but there was initial word police were looking to see if that happened.

“Both officers were uninjured and are on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation,” the district attorney’s office said.
The district attorney’s office stated they “will make a determination on this shooting once the investigation is complete. Until that time, the office is not releasing the names of any of the parties involved.”
New Ford Mill Road was closed in the area of the shooting until around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday.

A person was in a local hospital undergoing surgery Tuesday as of 5 a.m. after being shot during an incident with police, law enforcement sources told LevittownNow.com.

Exactly what led up to the shooting wasn’t immediately clear, but there were early reports the person who police shot had a weapon and may have fired shots at police. Officers pursued the person’s vehicle to the area of New Ford Mill and Steel roads leading up to the shooting, the sources said.
Ambulances rushed to the scene and took the injured person to the hospital in serious condition.
No officers were reported to be injured.
