Demolition work on a closed restaurant building in Middletown Township was underway this week.

The building at 1791 East Lincoln Highway was being taken down by crews on Thursday and will make way for a new 2,145-square-foot Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
The planned Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen location is situated in front of Restaurant Depot, Sam’s Club, and CarMax.
The soon-to-be-completely-demolished building was constructed in the early 1980s. It has been home to meal delivery service Fit Fuel Foods and restaurants Rosemary’s Grill, Speedway Restaurant and Pub, Ming’s Chinese Restaurant, and Ground Round.

In spring, the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors approved the plans for the new Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
The plans call for a drive-thru and close to 50 parking spaces.

The new Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen location is a few hundred yards away from where Chick-fil-A will be building a new restaurant with a drive-thru.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has locations on West Trenton Avenue in the Morrisville section of Falls Township and on Levittown Parkway in the Levittown Town Center in Tullytown Borough. A new location has been approved along Veterans Highway (Route 413) in Bristol Township.
In the U.S. and 29 other countries, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has more than 3,400 locations. They primarily follow a franchise model.
