Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen will be constructing and opening a location in Middletown Township.

On Monday evening, the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors voted to approve preliminary and final land development for a 2,145-square-foot Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen at 1791 East Lincoln Highway. There were several waivers approved, including one that will waive the need for sidewalks along East Lincoln Highway due to grading at the site.
The plan is to take down the standing closed restaurant building and build the new Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in its place. There will be a drive-thru and close to 50 parking spaces.
Attorney Michael Meginniss, who was representing Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, told the supervisors the plan will decrease impervious service and add some green space to the lot. The fast food eatery is smaller than the current building.

The planned Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen location is not more than a few hundred yards away from where Chick-fil-A will be building a new restaurant with a drive-thru.
“We think this is a good location in the township for this restaurant,” Meginniss said.

The planned Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen location sits in front of Restaurant Depot, Sam’s Club, and CarMax.
The standing building that will be torn down was constructed in the early 1980s. It has been home to meal delivery service Fit Fuel Foods and restaurants Rosemary’s Grill, Speedway Restaurant and Pub, Ming’s Chinese Restaurant, and Ground Round.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen operates locations along West Trenton Avenue in Falls Township’s Morrisville section and along Levittown Parkway in the Levittown Town Center in Tullytown Borough.

The fast food chain has more than 3,400 locations in the U.S. and 29 other countries. They operate largely under a franchise model.
