
On Thursday, the Bucks County Commissioners, area police chiefs, and members of law enforcement gathered at the Bucks County Administration Building to light the Project Blue Light wreath.

The wreath sits prominently in the third-floor of the rotunda of the county government headquarters in Doylestown Borough.
The wreath is lit with blue lights and adorned with white ornaments to mark each Bucks County law enforcement officer who has died on the job.
โAt this time of year, when weโre coming together to celebrate the season with friendsย and family, itโs important for us to remember those who gave everything to keep ourย county and our communities safe,โ said Commissioner Chairperson Bob Harvie. โIn memory ofย their service and their sacrifice, we proudly light and display this wreath for Bucksย Countyโs fallen law enforcement heroes.โย ย

Project Blue Light is a nationwide observance begun more than 30 years ago by Dolly Craig of Philadelphia. She was honoring the death of her Philadelphia police officer son-in-law, who was killed in the line of due in 1986.
